Only one person. I hardly ever see him anymore though because he is a work-a-holic and works both day and night. I speak to him on the phone every now and then though.

Yes, absolutely! I have friends I've stayed in touch with for 30, 31 and 39 years. We're all 45 years old.

None. I'm a much different person from back then. There's one person from college with whom I exchange emails occasionally and that's it. My closest friends now I've all met in the last 15 years after I graduated.

Not really. With facebook and myspace i've gotten in contact with a few people i grew up with. i think in 10 years i've seen one person i went to school with, cause we planned a dinner and than i ran into another one at the airport. he's in the navy and stationed here in san diego and we had the same flight back from kansas city one year at christmas. i avoided him seeing me at MCI and on the plane but he saw me at baggage claim at SD. other than than all of my friends are people i've met in the past 10 years.

my best friend.... we met when I just turned 11. I bitchslapped her little sister off a tire-swing for talking about my mom and we became the best of friends after that mushy

I thought I was gonna get my ass kicked for sure, so I walked right up to her to receive my beatdown and she said, "serves her right for talking trash, wanna play?" We have been the best of friends for a little over 26 years.

All of the other girls we grew up with ended up on drugs or are dead (5 died, Nicole rose , Vikki rose, Tara rose, Felicia rose and Sandra F. rose ).

One has full blown AIDS, one is doing a life sentence and the rest are recovering.

Me and my best friend are the only two in my hood to never get caught up on drugs.

But, for real, mama, why do all your stories involve you issuing beatdowns fishslap OR slicin' an' dicin' with a machete??? stab

I don't think any of the friends I have now will me friends with me 10, 20, 30, years from now. neutral
I love them to death, but I just can't see that. We're not compatible like that. I'd rather discuss the abstract than boys. I'd rather talk about Malcom X than DMX. And their political views make me sick.
I've been getting kind of sick of them, lately, but God, I do love them. And I'd rather not lose contact with them. But I can't see that NOT happening.

Yes. My oldest friend has been in my life since the 3rd grade. We see each other every day (because we work together, side by side). I have another friend that I've known since the 3rd grade but we're not as close. She dropped out of my life to be a crack whore for awhile but she calls every now and again. And I have another friend that I've known since the 6th grade and we're pretty much family now.

Foreal?!

I went to Havenscourt for like 4 months when me and my family moved back out here from Virginia. You should've seen my mother's face when she saw Seminary Ave, where she grew up lol She went to Havenscourt and Fremont High. She had a class with Felix Mitchell in JH I think

You should've seen my reaction when I had to enroll there. I was one pissed off 12 year old. That was the first time I EVVVVVER talked back to my momma lol

I was like "Now I KNOW you don't expect me to go here, right? I ain't goin' here!"
Here I am moving to East Oakland after spending most of my life in Hampton Virginia. I went one day, refused to go for a damn month(my mother tried but knew there was no point)

tell me why when I finally transferred out 4 months later, I had the second highest grade in at least 6 of my 8 classes?! and I barely went!

There would be days where I'd be at school and so disgusted, I'd wait until lunch, walk out and walk down East 14th and go home lol

Still almost 9 years later, my mom will drive through E.O and get sad because she remembers how it used to be sad

I have several friends that I've known >20 years. My two best girlfriends I have been frinds with for 30 and 23 years.

And my husband and I have been friends for 25 years. We dated in high school, broke up, and started dating again 17 years later.
