Wizard Of Oz CGI Remake In The Works!

This sounds intresting it not a remake of the film (so sorry guys no stupid songs in it) its actually gonna be a faitfull adaptation of the book. Which means itll be more dark (remember Return To Oz anyone?) Infact I read the Oz Books as a kid. I Remember the Tin-Man use 2 be a munchkin, Who fell in love with another muchkin, Seeing this a witch enchanted his axe and made him cut his arms and legs off and since nothing in Oz dies. They rebuilt his body with metal (dought thatll be in the moivie tho lol) But actually theyve got an intresting director John Boorman and his materials usually dark (remember Delivrence?), the concept art looks brilliant...so heres hoping pray

Look at the link contains concept art > http://www.aintitcool.com/node/39017

eek WTF ? Are there several Oz books and stories ? I only know that book called Emerald City and that there was a remake with Michael Jackson. I really like the Judy Garland version , I know there was one version before that one but I think the Garland version is so famous that it has become the only "official" version.

Tell me about Oz, its other versions and especially the dark theme. I never knew that the TinMan used to be a munchkin.

well theres alot missing in that "musical version" the orginal book was a really cool fantasty/adventure storie, for instance the witch sends a pack of wolfs to kill the main characters and the tin-man saves every1 by axing them all 2 bits. also a giant spider thats terrorising all the creatures in the forest and the cowardly lion has 2 kill it. theres weord creatures called the hammer heads that try and flatten u with there tops. Infact the original book would give the film "Labyrinth" or "The Dark Crystal" a good run for there weirdness.....but weird in a very cool way, Obvioulsy teh "Judy Garland" version is a musical, But I think Animations a great way 2 bring oz 2 teh screen cuz u can get away with more plus i it was live action theyd have a strict budget (for the first 1 anyway) so tehyd miss more out plus it wouldnt have that eye candy and im trying 2 find a site I was on the otherday that had teh designs for the tin man and lion...the tin man looks way cool nod

This sounds interesting but I don't know if my heart is ready to part with Judy's version....the darker plot twist could pull me in, though hmmm

I really don't get this movie. Who are the moral characters in it?

I mean, Glenda the good witch looks like Glen Close ala Fatal Attraction with a tiara and Vera Wang. The bitch has the audacity to tell Dorthy a bunch of false lies and ambigous hippy lovin' bullshit only in the end to admit to Dorthy that all she needed to do was click her heals 3 times and say that there's no place like home.
And what kind of 11 year old girl has tits like that? Her aunt and uncle need to stop feeding that bitch that Kansas corn fed, bovine growth hormone bullshit.

And that lion is obviously queerer than a 3 dollar bill. He has courage in him--all you need to do is talk shit about Celine Dion or Barbara Streisand, and you're gonna see a knock down, dragout, ass kicking lion snapping his fingers in 'z' formation for sure.

The movie just makes no damned sense.
