Boy,
growing up, if only my family got the chance to study this tutorial. My life would've been so different. For one thing, I probably wouldn't be spending so much time on sites like this one, wishin' people I never met a Happy Birthday with the depth & sincerity of an emotionally vacant corn-husk. Or at least, if I was, I'd be in a clique. Or at the very least, I wouldn't be posting this reply with my hands knotted up into fists. Yea, those damn crazy white people. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

I sure am not. What is it? mystery science theater 3000 features a hypothetical guy and his two robots who review movies loudly, while the movie is playing onscreen. they mock the dialogue, toss popcorn at the screen and generally wisecrack their way through the film.

You guys are delusional. seriously poor beleagured whites! This was a reality back then and something people want to go back to. Am I missing something with this M3 thing? 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

It's a joke. It's supposed to be a joke. MST3K was huge in the 90's as they (the human and two robots) made fun of stupid, campy, ridiculous films and added jokes often at the expense of the actors and director of the film. I'm sure this was a serious behavioral film of the time (as was Reefer Madness), but I doubt anyone truly wants to go "back there". |

Because this is not the forum for that (or this) discussion. It is not cool to jokingly refer to one race with a stereotypical film as fact when we know this is NOT how everyone lived... Just as it would not be cool to Latinos, Blacks, Asians, etc. Under your logic, it's okay to make racist, anti-semetic or homophobic statements as long as I add a "wink"? No thanks. |

Again, this is delusional. This was the "standard" for 50s life! I sure it was strived for... Just look at Leave it to Beaver, or My Three Sons. also, continued to the 70's with The Brady Bunch and Eight is Enough. The 80's didn't do any better with hits like, Diff'rent Strokes, Mr. Belvedere and Punky Brewster or Silver Spoons. Yeah, these are fictional shows but they reflected a fantasy about how people would like their lives to be. The other is a self-help type of video giving ideas as to how life "should be"... Was it? Hell no, even Superman (George Reeves) was an alcoholic/gambler who ended up shot dead. |
