InsatiableCream said: E.T E.T. was kinda funny cute. Until the movie took it self too serious. It was a bit confusing. Not much of a script. The movie could of been so much more.

Ten minutes? I don't think it's fair to judge a movie after only watching ten minutes of it.

It's overly sentimental garbage. I agree. I was the only kid that thought it sucked. Now, MAC & ME...that movie is amazing.

. [Edited 11/20/08 13:41pm] That movie SUCKED. They called it "As Good as it Gets" when in fact, that movie wasn't anywhere NEAR as good as it gets. I swear I think you're the only person who agrees w/ me on that everyone else seems to love that piece of shit

Ah, to each his own...
I like a lot of the movies mentioned; the Star Wars trilogy, The Matrix, LOTR, Donnie Darko, The Godfather, Goodfellas, Fight Club, Seven, Do the Right Thing, Shakespeare in Love, Blade Runner, Braveheart, and The Sixth Sense (M. Night's only good movie IMO) all come to mind. OTOH, I have a strong dislike for Forrest Gump (the very definition of overrated) and I absolutely loathe Castaway (Wilson was the only thing remotely interesting). wow , some of you didnt like "As good as it gets " ....
LOVED IT ... but then again i guess Jack Nicholson playing that manic compulsive kinda touched me somewhere ( i have relatives that have this ... and can somewhat relate ) the Matrix - i gotta admit - probably my "aversion" to keanu reeves kinda caused me to never watch more than 15 min of it .... i have relatives who have the boxed set and always tell me "have u seen it yet " ??? Colonel Angus may be smelly. colonel angus may be a little rough . but deep down ... Colonel angus is very sweet.

'No Country For Old Men'
I'm a big Coen-bros. fan and I watch everything they make. Let me state that I did like this movie, but I don't think it was as good as everybody was saying.....and not good enough for the Oscar!

E.T. kix ass. E.T. is the ONLY movie I have ever seen where the ENTIRE audience got up on their feet and applauded (and that was when the bikes flew, not the very end). I have never seen a movie have that much mass fun power. That was 1982. People were high walking out, this one guy grabbed my friend's shoulder and shouted "It could happen to you!" I also love how the kids were realistic for 1982 middle schoolers, assholes (reaching out to touch the friend's mother's ass), cussing, cynical, riding bikes, playing D&D...
