Sexism/sexist behaviors...and those who make excuses for it... People who speak over me as I try to talk...or worse, who try to finish my comments... People who refuse to control their kids in public places (I know kids will be kids (I have 2), but damn, whatever happened to home training?), then look at you like YOU'RE the one with the problem if you say something... People who disparage your accomplishments at work (promotions, awards, etc.) because they sucked so bad that it took them longer to achieve the same success, if at all... ...I could go on for days.... It's definitely OK to tell your friend her lasagna was awful if it was when she asks how you liked it. I just think there's always a tactful and polite way to do so. I'm more talking about people who have nasty opinions, share them with everyone and think they're somehow absolved of being offensive by saying they're "just being honest". Great, so you're honest. You're still an asshole. |
