You might need a Notebook cooler.

The store I work in had one of the more budget laptops from Toshiba for sale a few months ago and from what I could tell, they seem to offer good value for money. This Toshiba laptop was very popular at our store and I haven't heard of any complaints or trouble regarding those laptops from our customers.
If you were still looking for a laptop I personally would have recommended the Acer Aspire laptop.... I bought one of those last August and I'm really pleased with it.... this particular brand offers great value for money and Acer is very quick to adapt to new technology... for instance my laptop is one of very few laptops in the market that has a Blu-Ray drive....
One important factor when choosing a laptop is that the specifications for the memory match the hard drive and video memory etc.... for example, what's the use of having a fast processor if you only have 512 MB in RAM? Luckily in my case, all the important elements (RAM; video RAM, hard drive, processor) match. smile
This is my model: http://www.laptopsdirect....ersion.asp

But anyway, I think you'll do fine with the Toshiba laptop.
I'm just curious though. How big is the memory (RAM) in it and what kind of processor is in it?

No problem....
That laptop should be able to handle most of the stuff anyone would want to do on a laptop... the memory especially is quite big so you should be able to multi-task quite a bit on your machine.... actually it has same size RAM as my laptop and considering that laptop is designed for much more "heavy-load" stuff (Blu-Ray) than your machine I think you're well set for the future, taking into account that many popular programs tend to use more RAM with each new version.

Still, the statement is true. I didn't like them 13 years ago and haven't gone back since. That, and the smugness of Mac people who act like religious fanatics who insist their way is the only way irritates the hell out of me and makes me despise Macs even more. Even their commercials trying to bash PC users demonstrates that same smugness. It's an alternative that some people like and some people don't depending on their usage, but people get carried away and I know there are extremists on both sides.

Speaking of Toshibas, though, I just bought a Toshiba laptop for my wife a few weeks ago, and it has been running very smooth. She has no complaints, and I found the setup pretty nice.

What I mean, is a mac back then is a whole entire creature than a mac now. Although their users may still be just as obnoxious razz
