Pretty far from the closest place suitable for human habitation, NYC. Can't imagine why you ask.
Move to Washington. Better climate, Seattle is le roxor, similar proximity to cool things like kayaking and Canadia. . . plus gay people. Srsly. [Edited 11/7/08 10:49am] "What's 'non-sequitur' mean? Do I look it up in a Fag-to-English dictionary?"

As I understand it, Derry has vampires, werewolves and murderous clowns. Stay away from Derry. I loved in Alabaster, Alabama. The afore mentioned things don't scare me.

Carrie, the planet Hoth is warmer than Minneapolis in winter.

Maine was pretty creepy to me....I was in charge of an Honor Guard when I was stationed in the northeast and we did more than a few funerals in and around the areas around Portland, Augusta, and Lewiston...I'm sure that if I was visiting under different circumstances, those would be fine, fine places...but doing funerals in Stephen King's home state and meeting some of the "off the beaten path" citizens....I was like ...some of the folks we met were "clown" creepy....for one service, I took the team out for a recon of the cementary (so that we could get a lay of the land for our movements and the 21-gun salute positioning)...and as we're walking over to the plot, we noticed that the grave was still being dug...by hand....and the guy that crawled out of the grave looked like HE should've been the one going into it in a box.... He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.
