What do you think happens IN LIFE?...CHEATING.

it happens when ur ETHICS DIE

it happens in the DEATH of your true nature

it would appear you have no moral code

time for us to sing a lovely nursery rhyme:

humpty dumpty sat on the wall

humpty dumpty had a great fall

all the kings horses and all the kings men

couldn't put humpty together again.

have a lovely unconscionable day down there in Hell

wave

spit Oh LAWD! Nursery rhymes and the Bible, sounds like a religious scholar to me. lol

so was i biggrin

so dont be offended, and try not to judge me

cheating is something that can be easily justified

as much as it can be condemned.

i'm just glad you were joking when you said earlier

that those of us who do our best to live by a moral code

have been brainwashed by what society expects of us

because in all honesty

you'd have to be joking to say something like that.

i'm glad we understand each other now.

These threads always end up with hundreds of posts! I just want to state that cheating is not "natural" to all men, as many seem to believe. I know that in my case, I am actually repulsed by the idea of being with someone else.

I will defend mens' desire to cheat as being unavoidable, but not the action itself.

I think men cheat because they're weak. Too weak to resist temptation, and too weak to be honest and leave their partners.

Children & marriage may make it more complicated, but I don't think they change anything.

But it's only considered weak because people have been taught one must be monogamous and polygamy is wrong. If you look at older/ancient civilizations where polygamy was the way, I can pretty much much guarantee none of those men felt weak. In fact, those men were actually looked upon as being the strongest of men just to have so many women to be able to satisfy. So, to deem someone "weak" because they aren't able to resist what's natural is a twisted societal rule/law.

yes, but if polygamy is "the way" then it's not cheating is it? I don't care if people fuck around honestly, but if they make a commitment to someone and can't keep it, and they can't be honest and tell the person that they can't be committed to them anymore, then they're weak.

A strong person can be openly polygamous and not have to lie about it.

Right. But since polygamy ISN'T the way, then it's cheating. I think we've all already agreed on that.

And the reason a person has to lie about cheating is because it's not accepted and there are consequences to be dealt with when caught cheating, THAT'S why people lie to begin with - to avoid the consequenes of being caught cheating.

It's only cheating if you aren't open about your lifestyle. I just don't think a person has to pretend to enter into a committed relationship. There are women who will have open relationships. And it's not illegal (as long as you aren't marrying more than one person). I think a truly strong person can still determine how they live their lives without deceiving people, like Hugh Hefner has done. And you don't have to be a publishing mogul.

And the dearth of those women in a man's everyday life is the exact reason men cheat.

And yeah, using Hef as an example just doesn't work because he's pretty much paying for sex/companionship, those women are ONLY with him because of his status/money and what he can do for them, so that's a whole different subject right there.
