Online Relationships . . . How do you feel about online relationships? I'd like to know how these topics affect you on the Internet:
• Romance • Friendship • Cybersex • Feuding • Travel Does your Internet activity ever cause you Real Life happiness or sorrow? Are these "just words" on a screen, or do they have real meaning to you? What would you do if you met someone special online? Have any of you crossed the Internet/Real Life boundary with success? Any marriages? Any horror stories?

My wife is Thai and when we're apart chat is the main way we talk with each other. I think it's a godsend for us, although it's easy to get into an argument and not be able to properly resolve it because it's not the same as being able to see and touch and talk to someone face to face. We met over 2 years ago but only started as friends. I guess it was through email and chat that we got closer and ended up being together. I wouldn't call ours an internet relationship by any means but I can see that it has helped us a lot.

• Romance • Friendship • Cybersex • Feuding • Travel Well personally, I think all the things you mention there can work out on the net. Friendship most definately!!! I've met a lot of folks around the world that I really do consider very good friends. Romance, I have seen a few of those work out. I've even been lucky enough to set some friends up online. Cybersex, well okay. I have done that before, so I know that can happen! Feuding, yeah, I've gotten into some nasty verbal exchanges before. Travel, yes, I have traveled to meet some of those friends, and it was great fun! --If a man is considered guilty for what goes on in his mind, then give me the electric chair for all my future crimes.-- Electric Chair/Batman/Prince

Friendship! Words on a page written by a real person. Fear is the mind-killer.

How do you feel about online relationships? I'd like to know how these topics affect you on the Internet:
• Romance It can happen. Sometimes it may not always work out, but it can happen... I've seen it work both ways. • Friendship I've met some wonderful friends on the internet, some who are closer to my heart than those I've met in person. Just because you cannot be with these people, outside of the internet, does not make who they are any less special or important. • Cybersex Personally, I think it is a waste of time and I don't understand it. • Feuding With someone who you've met and are close with, yes, feuding can hurt while online and be very real. If it's just a person spouting off, one who you could care less about, it can just be a hell of a lot of fun. • Travel You can find fantastic travel deals on the internet! Does your Internet activity ever cause you Real Life happiness or sorrow? Yes, it has... but only with those that I have come to know very well. Are these "just words" on a screen, or do they have real meaning to you? Well, it depends on what the words are. The only words that really don't have meaning to me are the ones that are spoken to create drama. What would you do if you met someone special online? The same thing I would do if I met someone special offline. Have any of you crossed the Internet/Real Life boundary with success?Yes Any marriages? No. Any horror stories? Not really. . Any horror stories? for an online relationship to work with any type of longevity, there has to go to or start at another step, which is face to face contact. repeatedly. I'll add this. The ones that DON'T work are the ones that are conducted publicly in the chatroom of this website where the 2 participants wallow in their sappy love for one another, throw it in everyone's faces, and show off about it. and if you don't believe me, just ask Finess how many internet girlfriends he's had in the last 6 years surely this edit is my ticket straight to hell.....
