What Age Do You Consider Someone as "Old"

Some people say 40 is old or 50 is old. Isn't age a number?? Or is it how you feel??

What age do you consider as "over the hill"??

yeah. Some people are old at much younger ages (even in their 30's or 40's), and I can look at some 70 year olds and they still act youthful.

But not really 80. They're pretty old!

I'll have to go with 80/85 but that depends on how spry they are.

I see women of various ages all day...one thing I've noticed is that regardless of how spry they are, physical aging is significantly apparent in the late 70- early 80's.

This, of course, is an observation of physical things...the spirit is an entirely different matter.

It would depend on the context in which you discuss old. If you are running a marathon then 50 might be old. If you are trying to procreate then 45 might be old. If you are going out to clubs, then 30 might be old. If you are running for President, there's no such thing as old! biggrin

"Old" is how you act. If I see some 25 year old sitting on their ass all day and bones poppin' whenever they get up, They're old. Because old just means you've given up on life. disbelief
Becuase thats what we expect "old" people to do right? Go retire out on a lawn chair and spend the rest of their time giving passerby's the evil eye from the stoop.
Man, I plan to be old when I'm dead.

My dad is in his 60's. I wouldn't DARE call him old. He LOOKS young and ACTS young. He's not driving around in a Corvette with a too big baseball cap with the label still on it making an ass out of himself, but the man knows how to keep on going.

gosh that changes every year. Everytime Byron has a birthday, I increase the age I consider old to be by one year.

At 21 years old ; ) sometime I thought that 40, 65, 80 was old …hmm!
Now that I’m almost half way to the 80. ... I have a different opinion of it hrmph

rolleyes no kidding!!!

Really I do innocent
From self-perception, some day I feel 21-love nut. … And some morning Ouch!!! slam Shut me please… I feel … like a nutshell with out the nut (that’s the energy).
I think some people are just old and some are wowed!!! No matter the number

A Near-synonym of old for me is cantankerous, shrewish, quarrelsome, envious, lifeless, dull and halitosis mouth that envy youth…

I think it depends a lot on the person. I have a 33 year old cousin who's been an old lady her entire life, or at least for the 23 years I've known her.

I agree. As I age, the idea of "old" seems ever farther away.

My wife thinks Madonna has something to do with it. lol I don't altogether disagree. Though Madge's cool factor is finally starting to stagnate, she's made every age look more chic so far.
