Britney Spears Pic: PA Photos 17 year-old Jamie Lynn reportedly having second baby * Oct 8, 2008 Britney Spears sister Jamie Lynn is reportedly pregnant with her second child, just three months after becoming a mother to a baby girl. Spears, who is 17 years-old, is reportedly eight weeks into her second pregnancy, having become pregnant just a month after baby Maddie Briann was born on June 19. The report in the National Enquirer said that Spears was not aware that one could become pregnant while breastfeeding. The teenager reportedly “cried her eyes out” when a home pregnancy test came back positive. In 2006, Jamie Lynn’s older sister Britney announced she was pregnant with son Jayden James just six months after the birth of her first child, Sean Preston. --By our New York staff. Wow, I knew her big sister was stupid when she publicly stated that Japan was in Africa but this illustrates that stupidity runs in their family. I guess she thinks that "doing it" standing up won't get you pregnant either. It's cases like this that makes me wonder why Sarah Palin opposes abortion. Not for the baby but for Jamie Lynn. Had she not been born, shit like this wouldn't leak out to the press.

At this stage there really is ALOT that they can be open about in terms of sexuality...there is so much useful advice she can be giving her right about now

Really, you don't find it the least bit hilarious that she thought breastfeeding was a proven method of BIRTH CONTROL!!! Sorry but to me that is HEE-FRIKKIN'-LARIOUS!!! Luckilly for her she has nice financial padding to fall back on.... ...still, though, I can't BELIEVE she didn't go over all of this with her mom. Lynne needs to step it up a bit...wait, okay maybe it's a little late for that, but you know what I mean

Hicks are dangerous and here's the proof... Actually, I bet you that's a total misquote. If she didn't have her period during that time - which you don't have for some time after having a baby, it makes total sense that she didn't think she would get pregnant again so soon. Also, breastfeeding delays the return of your period – delaying it up to a year in some cases. And anyone who is a mom knows that you spot bleed a lot but that doesn’t totally mean that you’re back in the cycle again. This happens to a lot of people, she’s certainly not the only person to be taken by surprise. .

Except that you can get pregnant before your period comes back - because you have to ovulate in order to get a period. In other words, you ovulate before you menstruate (at least once). And, of course, once is all it takes. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

IF and that's a big IF...this is true then I really don't feel bad for her. A slip up once? OK. Twice??? No. She is 17. She has been pregnant and given birth. We can assume that she had good prenatal and postnatal care due to her having the means to. She should KNOW BETTER. And the issue of whether or not you can get pregnant while breastfeeding...well her OB/GYN should have talked to her about this and about what birth control options she was planning on using. Mine talked to me about it and prescribed me my BCPs before I even left the hospital after giving birth to my son.
I don't feel bad at all. Girl (and her boyfriend) are dumb if this is true.

And this kind of thing happens to a lot of couples, and I wouldn't just automatically call them all 'stupid'.
