You know what... that's damned near perfect... smile at your enemy. Kinda like Jesus and all those other guys throughout time who said "love your enemy" and all that.

Hmmm... nice thought too.

Sorry I'm too STANK... I don't give out smiles like emoticons biggrin

On the real, I'm not into the turn the other cheek stuff. Purposely malicious racists get neither smile nor frown from me, they just get ignored.

I think racism is often in the minds of the "victims" like an inferiority complex. I hate all the tippy-toeing that often follows from too much PCness and people go the other way in order not to upset a certain number of wacky people who are fixated with the racism they think is being dealt upon them.

Who wants to make a malicious racist's day brighter? You think I'd a been smiling at George "segregation yesterday, segregation today, segregation tomorrow" Wallace? Or Bull O'Connor who sicked dogs on little black babies? Or the nightriders who lynched thousands of black men at the turn of the century? Or those who bombed a church and killed black children? HELLNO. no no no!

Some white-related examples of racist victimisation would have given your argument a more balanced outlook. Instead it was rendered generic fight-the-power pap.

Not that it wasn't without merit, just depends on how loudly u want to be heard.

Umm that's why I said "malicious racist" and if you look at my first post I was referring to out of the closet racists.

Obviously ppl are on the DL with their bigotry so they gonna get the smiles. If they deserve it so be it. If they don't well I consider it received on false pretenses.

You can render it what you choose.

When I speak I do so out of my experience and those of others that I know of which I feel connected to. If you want to dismiss it as "fight-the-power pap" that just shows YOUR inability to relate one form of bigotry to another.

I'm just talking about if u want to make a difference or if u want to do your thing in the corner and be as "right" as u like but not be heard. Let's face it, it's often an intellectual battle and u have to get a foot in the door of the white man. Just the way it is, sorry to say.

Frankly, no. All I see is words...none at all related to humans. Everyone attempts to use adjectives to describe this or that.

So no one "drew the short straw". Life is challenging for all of us. We all get judged by how we speak, how we carry ourselves, how we look, and how much money we have...

It would truly be golden to purely be judged on our character.
