i'm sorry lol Thanks. I've heard mixed things about it. It seems the negative out weigh the positive. "When words fail, music speaks..." --- Shakespeare

I don't speak Yiddish, but I have a friend who does, and apparently the book is even more enjoyable if you do. Chabon is not only a master of the English language, but he cleverly works in Yiddish words throughout. Just one more layer to this incredible book.

This Novel About A Kidnapping Gives The Reader An Insight Into The Behaviour Of Different People Under Stress - The Victim, Those Who Care About Him, And Those Who Are Inflicting Harm On Him.
I read the Dutch translation, though, because the follow up of this book was one of my faves as a young adult and I own that one in a translation, so I got this as a translation too. Another reason to get the Dutch translations is that it has a cover drawn by The Tjong Khing.

I must admit, I already finished KM Peyton days ago. I am currently reading Natsuo Kirino's 3rd English translation Real World.
In a suburb on the outskirts of Tokyo, four teenage girls drift through a hot smoggy August and tedious summer school classes. There's dependable Toshi; brainy Terauchi; Yuzan, grief-stricken and confused; and Kirarin, whose late nights and reckless behaviour remain a secret from those around her. Then Toshi's next-door neighbour is found brutally murdered and the girls suspect Worm, the neighbour's son and a high school misfit. But when he disappears (taking Toshi's bike and cell phone with him), the four girls become irresistibly drawn into a treacherous vortex of brutality and seduction which rises from within themselves as well as the world around them.
