Sometimes when a person loses a child they need to see it and hold it for closure. That part I can sort of understand, but I do think the kids are too young to be a part of that. They aren't old/mature enough to understand what is going on. They don't need to see it.

AWWWW C'mon seriously?????

I'm sorry but THAT is wrong, so very, very wrong. I can respect the whole grieving process but that is what a memorial service is for. You don't pass 'round the miscarried fetus and take pictures!!!!

I'm sorry that had to happen to her but let's leave the children out of this...

my day is gonna SUCK now...

Since this was based on religious beliefs, I really don't feel I have the right to judge this woman.

Everyone handles grief in their own way, and I have known many people who have lost a baby and took pics. Even tho the child is still a 'fetus' it's still someone's baby.

I would have to agree the kids were to young to see that, but once again, I am not here to tell another how to raise their children. Some could look at our own lives and say...that was pretty messed up.

So I am sorry this woman lost her child!!

Wow! I wonder what she told the kids. I see no problem in her keeping what was in her. Is she going to put in on display? That would be quite bizarre considering we don't do this with grown humans who die. We bury/cremate them. Is she going to start a new trend. And the little hat, don't know. Kind of spooked me a little.

The poor little mite sad

Poor family, to lose a child is terrible even at this early stage of life It looks almost big enough that there might have been hope that it would survive.

I can fully understand her holding the little one and grieving but I agree that I wouldn't have included the children at this point though I would let them see pictures of their sibling when they're older.

Oh and I don't understand letting pictures of such a private moment go on the internet.

It's disturbing, gross and wrong. I didn't keep my brother at home when he died and pass him around to my family. Why was she even allowed to do this?

That fetus looks at around the 5.5 month mark. I had a friend that miscarried a baby at age 40. It was her first pregnancy and she was told that she couldn't get pregnant. She ignored her body's warning signs (contractions, and spotting) and lost her baby in a bathroom of a shopping mall, she called me, going all ballistic screaming and crying trying to grab her baby out of a toilet. I got there as soon as I could, she was drenched in her own tears and crouching on a bathroom floor. We had to clean her (her mom was with her) and we made her flush the toilet. Lord she was an absolute mess. She never recovered from that.
sad I have children, and I had to pull away for my own sanity. I still keep her in my thoughts and prayers. Some women that lose children like this just don't handle it well. They blame themselves in a harsh way.

It's very sad,as any miscarriage is,but for her to have her children hold, and take pictures with the fetus is just wrong. Someone should have stepped in,and made sure this didn't occur. She should have had some sort of service, but not subjected her children to that. disbelief
