I think similar spiritual beliefs are interpreted differently by various religions. It's when we start anthropomorphizing God and Devil, that it gets a little goofy. That is, when they become comic book characters rather than universal concepts.

Yes, I do think Americans are overblowing their own problems. The economic crash is unfortunate, but you're still a top tier country. No, I don't think scrapbooking is art, but if you remember that thread, I went out of my way to say good things about it as well. Yes, even older people who refuse other genres of music are denying themselves. Those who don't care about music tend not to be the ones slotting themselves into one artist or era. I do think it's childish to believe in the boogeyman. Sorry. I don't know what you want.

I don't understand why Americans don't have a better appreciation for geography, as a whole. I've just read that nearly a third couldn't point out Louisiana on a map after Hurricane Katrina came through! Not to mention that a majority couldn't point out Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel or Saudi Arabia.
