PHOTOWHORE YOUR BURGER Man eats 23,000 Big Macs - 54-year-old says OCD drove him to eat a burger every day since 1972

Man gets Big Mac attack 23,000 times
54-year-old says OCD drove him to eat a burger nearly every day since 1972
FOND DU LAC, Wis. - A 54-year-old man says his obsessive-compulsive disorder drove him to eat 23,000 Big Macs in 36 years.

Fifty-four-year-old Don Gorske says he hit the milestone last month, continuing a pleasurable obsession that began May 17, 1972 when he got his first car.

Gorske has kept every burger receipt in a box. He says he was always fascinated with numbers, and watching McDonald's track its number of customers motivated him to track his own consumption.

The only day he skipped a Big Mac was the day his mother died, to respect her request.

The correctional-institution employee says he doesn't care when people call his Big Mac obsession crazy. He says he's in love with the burgers, which are the highlights of his days.

I definitely go thorugh streaks where I eat the same thing every day, but usually for breakfast and usually it's only on weekdays.

And I have regular orders when I go to certain restaurants too. I like to try new/different things out, sure, but I tend to have favorite dishes and if I order something other than my usual, I find I have to go back there within the next few days to get what I usually order cause I'm craving it.

lol

sometimes i will whomp up a big batch of something to eat, and freeze it for the week ahead. this can be a real bummer if the recipe doesn't turn out.

Cooking for one sucks like that sometimes. lol It's hard to find things that "freeze beautifully" and I'll often end up throwing out food cause I was sick of eating it for 3 days in a row. redface

In Holland we have sausages sold at supermarker chain Hema that I am totally daft for. I ALWAYS buy one when I pass the supermarket; they often have stalls outside of the shop.

These days there's even a stall at the airport where I work... me oh my.
