Used to watch them when I was little on WPIX(Channel 11) here in NYC. Around 1971 the episodes were re-edited because of the racist content. Some(like 'The Kid from Borneo') were kept off network TV altogether.
Despite the stereotypes, Hal Roach was ahead of his time, giving blacks & women lead roles in his films. | |
