Is the world too spicy, not spicy enough, or just right for you? I'm talking about food here, people. Do you find yourself annoyed that whenever you go out to eat (or even when you buy groceries), the food is always too spicy for you? Or are you on the other end of the spectrum and you end up carrying a bottle of hot sauce with you wherever you go because everything in the world tastes like bland baby food? Or do you not even really care and if it's spicy, it's spicy and if it's not, that's fine too as long as it tastes good? THE FATE OF THE GALAXY HINGES ON YOUR RESPONSE!!!! PEW! PEW! PEW!

my pallate is ruined. i have to put hot sauce on everything.
i even prefer it to dressing on salads. i blame my first trip to New Orleans.

I'm pretty flexible. I tend to prefer a little spice (although not necessarily heat), but on occasion I appreciate being challenged to enjoy a dish for what it is -- without all the wild embellishment. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

depends, if i happen to eat at a chain , which isnt very often, i find the food to be tasteless.
like i i tried for the first time some place called buffalo wings or some shit like that. It was awful. I couldnt figure out for the life of me why on earth people were flocking to stand in line to be seated at this place. i mean this places parking lot is jam packed and people standing around thier door waiting to be seated from open to close. Its the worst shit i ever put into my pie hole!

a few years back, i had an EPIC FAIL of a dating situation with a person whom i was forced to share a table with at an indian restaurant, at which occasion he launched on a tirade about how he couldn't understand why people liked spicy foods other than they like to inflict pain on themselves, and the chestnut of wisdom, "normal people don't need to burn their mouths in order to enjoy food".
oooooh. yeah, that was not a successful relationship AT ALL.

And not that crap they put in squeeze bottles on the tables at chinese restaurants. oooh, i love the bright red chinese chili sauce in the clear bottles with the green spout. i buy that stuff and keep it on hand at home. though i will say, it can't hold a candle to the homemade chili pastes i get when i go to a korean restaurant for bibimbop. that stuff is always

And besides if you read the bottle it clearly states it needs to be refrigerated. every shop i go to leaves it sitting on the tables like it's mustard or something.

Actually, being Thai, I love very hot, spicy, food.
I think you should really try eating food as spiciest as you can. It's been proven to increase metabolism, enhance mood, and help with all manner of things. Plus a few hours later, you can imagine what it's like with me making sweet love to you, as the food start to tear your ass up.

I lean towards the medium salsa.
Now my mother is a different story. She complains about everything being spicy. I think she'd be happy if she could eat hospital food on the daily. Shake it til ya make it

oh man.where do i start?
i find that in most places i go to eat,my spice pallette is level. which brings me to my next story(this is a true incident,by the way.) my bf and i went to a sub shop and while we ordered another man was in line behind me.after our order was taken i sat down and bf went to the restroom.i'm within earshot when i hear the following dialogue: customer at counter(talking to sandwich maker) : "what did the other guy order?"(referring to bf) sandwich maker(to customer) chicken carbonara with lettuce, tomato, etc. customer at counter (tilts head, looks at menu, scratches chin.): "well,i'll have what he's having (shakes head)....'cuz i can't eat spicy foods." me(thinking to myself) WHAT THE HELL? um, sir..i hate to break it to you but you're in QUIZNO'S,this ain't The Wing Factory.(the wing factory is another spot i know of that do sell EXTREMELY HOT wings.) i was too through ya'll.told my bf after we left and had a good laugh on the way home. It really freaks me out when people tell me that food is too spicy for them and I can't even taste any spice in it at all.
I love the spice. | |

Love this one on anything....
This one is good as a dipping sauce for egg rolls, spring rolls, chicken nuggets... it's sweet and spicy... I can't eat spicy foods anymore like when I was young. Has to be mild now. . [Edited 8/21/08 0:35am]

have you ever tried Chinese chili sauce? And not that crap they put in squeeze bottles on the tables at chinese restaurants. I know the kind that you mentioned... it is yuck. I have an excellent variety of chinese chilli sauce.. it is a bean chilli sauce and it excellent. It is called Hunan chilli Paste and comes in a small jar with a red lid. [Edited 8/21/08 0:43am]
