What are the qualities/characteristics you'd say are part of a 'true friend'

What I love the most about my closest female friend deer eyes is that she will tell me striaght up the stuff I need to hear though I may not want to in a respectful thought provoking way.

My closest male friend gar tends to bash my head with his thought provoking 2x4 and I love him just the same

my very best friend and husband has that deep knowing of me and is able to get points across with just a simple look and I find deep comfort in living with a friend that knows me so deeply he does not need to speak

a true friend is someone who wont toy with you or lie to you, someone who is honest, genuine and respectful of you, someone who doesnt make presumptions about you, and definitely someone who isnt paranoid about your intentions, someone who includes you, thinks of you, loves you, is there for you when you need someone to talk to, someone who gives advice and doesnt expect you to take it, someone who will let you be who you are, someone who doesnt mind if you're good at something, someone who doesnt get jealous if you have something they don't, someone who can be happy for you when you are happy, someone who knows when to leave you be, someone who doesnt front or be insincere, someone who loves you unconditionally and lets you grow in your own way and your own time without rejecting you or making you feel unworthy of their friendship, someone who doesnt plot against you behind your back, someone who wont try to steal your boyfriend or girlfriend, someone who seeks to understand you if you have a communication breakdown, someone who listens to you and believes you and someone you can trust to always just be here, someone who can forgive you and someone with an open heart to understand and keep giving you their friendship with unconditional love, imo.

i am not a fan of the word friend but trust is a big one in relationships
