Same here. A Strat or any good Super-Strat variants work fine for me.
Interestingly it was Roy Buchanan that fed my Tele gas. Even though Prince was the #1 reason for me picking up the guitar!
I have a custom one built to spec from ESP parts that I've had for almost 20 years. It's the 2nd really good guitar I got. The 1st being an Ibanez Roadstar.

Now about those Hohners... For those interested in the guitar as a player you may want to try before you buy if at all possible. Even compare it with a real fender Telecaster or other Tele-types. I just think it's a sane idea considering the bread being asked for the vintage or any of the reissue models.
If you just have to have that guitar playability and tone aside you disregard all of what I'm about to type. LOL!

The Budget version of the recent ones are priced at $799.00 with case. I just hate the idea of anyone spending that much money on a guitar sight unseen and not being 100% in love with it. In a recent ebay auction I was checking out I found that this model is built in China as by the sticker shown in the photo of the rear of the headstock. I thought these were being made in Korea?! $799.00 seems a little steep to me. 500-600 bucks sounds more reasonable.

Not to knock the build quality of these guitars, its just that the general consensus is that guitars coming out of China still have a ways to go in terms of overall consistent quality control. That being said, If Hohner provided good specs to the O.E.M. plant and are really monitoring the Q.C. these should be fine instruments. Just my 2+ cents. Here's item # for the ebay auction I'm referring to. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-H....m20.l1116
