This new film IS a re-creation. While it isn't a straight-up remake, it is definitely a re-boot. They basically are hitting the re-set button on the whole series. None of the stuff like Jason becoming a zombie, fighting Freddy or going into space will be part of the new continuity, and the "flashback" scenes will be done with new actors. Subtle differences will also be a part of the new story. In short, this is a brand-new series, with a new continuity. [Edited 8/18/08 7:26am]
