Can watching Will and Grace make you gay?

JUST KIDDING! lol

just wanted to grab you guys attention and simltaniously poke fun at the "Gay's stole the rainbow" thread...

i do have a question however, and hopefully it doesnt sound too simple-minded..

to all gay guys (and girls) on the org...

do you feel "Will & Grace" accurately protrays (...i dont wanna say a gay lifestyle cuz that just sounds like "them vs us"...) does it accurately protray the issues gays have to face, even if it does so lightly and with humor?

i'm sure others have asked this but i havent asked, and i was talking to a friend the other day about how noah's ark seemed sterotypical to me [from the one episode i saw]...but i wanted her perspective as a gay person/activist of sorts

and also...i know ONE (or even two) tv show(s) can't fully represent a people or a mass experience, but i only have will and grace to go off of (television wise)

sorry if i just sound ig'nant

Yes.

Let's just say that I know people that are very similar to Jack, Grace and Will. I haven't run into a Karen yet. I WANT TO THOUGH.

I loved the show.

My ex and ex-roommate (best friends) are both black and pretty butch so no, this show didn't represent how they lived. But they didn't complain about it.
They liked it. It was nice to see Noah's Arc showing a different perspective on gay life.

There are just too many versions of gay, to represent them all in one show.

nod thats what my friend said...she wasnt a great fan of noahs ark, but the show being the only one focusing on black gays plays a big role in its success

Won't make you gay, but it will decrease your IQ.

Maybe I am being too harsh but I found a few of the themes a bit much.

1)the WIll and Grace friendship and the dabbling that they were to be together.

2)The Will character was a bit too straight acting for me and totally unbelievable.

3) The Jack character was a bit too over the top gay acting for me and reminded me of a mammy character - sexless comic relief whose identity is a source of ridicule (but it's okay because, like, it's a GAY sitcom, right?).

i find it really weird that several television shows have well-rounded, very real and human characters who are lesbian, but whenever a gay male character is introduced, he always has to be some played-out stereotype. there are plenty of guys in the world with all kinds of personality characteristics who just so happen to be gay - but you wouldn't know that from watching television.

NO Will & Grace is not accute.

Will and Grace are mom and dad

jack and karen are the kids

it's a traditional family sitcom change the roles alterated a bti.

the sexuality of both will and jack is so one deminsonal and an afterthought.
