Sorry, but I'ma proud labelwhore so I'm the WRONG person to ax. I was just on the phone with Saks hunting down a new designer handbag. So I'ma always say "worth it." However, I take a "high/low" approach. I'll spend more than a grip on my purse and shoes but will pair it with a $20 dress.

I believe that in some cases it is worth it. The tailoring in a lot of "designer" pants is amazing and long lasting. I can't buy cheap shoes. Some cheap shoes either hurt my feet or stink to high heaven. Cheap materials, cheap shoes.
