I remember when I was a kid,my dad made some chitlins and I thought they were okay. But,years later I found out exactly what chitlins really are (pig intestine),and now I absolutely REFUSE to eat them.

When I was younger, my friend's mom made some. I didn't know what they were, hadn't had them, etc. And I've always been fairly open to trying new things. I put that SHIT in my mouth, frowned like Aunt Esther & spit that shit OUT. I hope her mom wasn't too offended but there was no way I was swallowing that garbage.

There's a soulfood place here that makes chitlin's on Fridays. I specifically avoid the place on Fridays b/c the smell is SO bad, hurl inducing indeed... nod ill

David, you should try the Gingerbread House, here in Oakland. It's a Louisiana Soul Food restaurant. I have never been there myself (and I doubt they'd have any vegetarian food), but I've heard quite a few people rave about it. Hit me up if you ever come to the Town wink

Yeah she's Japanese, and I've spent a lot of time over there myself. We're both vegetarian though so we only do veggy Japanese food.

And no Ice9, I haven't tried veggy haggis biggrin
