I really wanted to re-watch the first season before starting the second this weekend, but I haven't gotten my blu-ray player yet on which to play my discs. I doubt I can hold out that long so I may just say the hell with it and enjoy season two as it airs.

I'm still a bit confused bout the baby thing? I mean it just came out of left field, and if the new season takes place a couple years later I don't see if they're going to even bring that up again.
I love the show though. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

I love the show though. OMG. The baby was a complete surprise! I turned to my partner and asked how can she be with child without knowing? I suppose back then it was perhaps possible. In the season premiere, it's alluded to that she took some time off after the baby and came back with a promotion, though I thought she got promoted in front of everyone and then had the baby. It was kinda slow but I donĀ“t mind that. Loved the first episode off the second season. I simply adore this show.

I still haven't seen any of the new episodes yet, but re-watching the first season on blu-ray makes me appreciate the series even more now that I'm seeing all the episodes in order for the first time. And it looks stunning in high-definition. I should be all caught up by next week.
It sucks that my cable provider doesn't carry the AMC HD channel. I'm gonna be very spoiled when I try to watch season two on regular TV.

to much like a daytime soap opera With the exception of the season finale, I didn't think season one was at all melodramatic like a daytime soap. If anything, I thought it would be too slow and subtle for most people.

I have little to base my opinion on except the 3 shows I watched at a friends that she raved about - dunno what season but I was and not impressed I can't even say I enjoyed it

I just know I wont be sitting with her watching that stuff again I hear you, it's not for everyone. But it's well crafted, well acted & most of all SUBTLE, so it's aesthetic is not soap-like at all. But I get it, it bored you
