lol

and i chose my screen name because jasmine is my favorite scent and i'm a fire sign (aries).

my old screen name was a shortening of my first name, the initials of my last names, and my birthday. But then 2the9s kept on calling me "jessy bunch of numbers" and made fun of me for a year until i changed it. lol

Jules was taken and I don't like putting numbers in my screen names. My real name is Julie Whitehead. Kids used to call me Julie Purplehead. Prince likes purple so I felt it fitting for this site. It didn't come to mind that it might be mistaken for a dick. giggle Whoops! redface

My initials are CBC. Spellcheck in Word always suggests the word "cubic" as a replacement for CBC.

So....

cubic = my initials according to Word
6 = my birth month
10 = my birth day
52 = my birth year

Voila...

cool

notaprintztype

I'm new here, but I've popped in to read the forums for many years. It seems to me that so many of Prince's admirers are bent and bound on being his 'type', attempting to be compatible with him and seeking some sort kinship and delusory soul mate status. It becomes quite antagonistic and a bit unbalanced. "Does Prince lurk here, does he not? Did he send you an orgnote? He likes me better than you!" etc. eek

That type of mania doesn't resonate with me. I can love the music and admire the talent without aspiring to be Prince's next wife. My screen name is just a cheeky bow to that.

Sweeny is from a book, 79 is the year I was born. I like the way sweeny looks with 2 e's, not your standard 3. shrug

In the book Sweeney looses her shit in a cab when The Beautiful Ones comes on the radio. I think I might have cried at that part too. Damn haven't read this in years....

http://www.amazon.com/Wak...0061054437

Summary from Amazon.

Leaving her protective parents to go away to college, Sweeney Cassidy goes wild. She skips classes, stays out all night, and basically spends her first semester constantly drunk. Into this haze come the ethereal Oliver and the seductive Angelica, who become her best friends, and with both of whom Sweeney falls in love. The only trouble is, the school is controlled by an Illuminati-esque secret society; Angelica is a chosen avatar of a vengeful goddess; and Oliver is marked as her first sacrifice. This situation plays out tragically, and a shaken Sweeney transfers to another school, where she gets her degree and settles into "normal" life. Then, eighteen years later, her college ghosts come back to haunt her, as old friends come out of the woodwork, and Angelica prepares for the final denouement with the secret society. Sweeney is suddenly back in the mysterious world she glimpsed as a teenager.
Mixed in with this hypnotically written story is a political battle between the Matriarchy (represented by Angelica) and the Patriarchy (the secret society); between the Goddess and the world that has ignored her for millennia. One of the best touches of Hand's book is that she doesn't really take sides, except maybe to hint that the fault of both philosophies is the extremes they go to. Even when Sweeney makes her decision at the end, she makes it for personal reasons and not because she agrees with either side.
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.
