Moonbeam

Favorite instrument?

What is your favorite instrument? It can be based on anything- how you play it, how it sounds to your ears, the tones it exudes, etc.

Mine would most definitely be piano. I've been listening to David Bowie- "Lady Grinning Soul" and "Aladdin Sane" a lot lately, as well as "Life on Mars?," all of which majorly feature piano. I am stunned at the piano's ability to produce ANY kind of sound. It can be eerie, helpless, gorgeous, desparate, stark, grandiose, soothing, sporadic, funky, and insane.

I also enjoy playing the piano. It is a major stress outlet for me.

What about you?

Piano and bass...

I love the sound of both of them, but I also love the thought of the fingers moving over the keys on the piano if I'm just listening to the music and the strength of the bass... they're both very sexy instruments to me.

On a side note... I just got a Reuben sandwich... why do restaurants insist on just using corned beef and hardly any saurkraut? evil

I love music so much, it's how to pick just one. But I would have to say the flute. It just does something to my soul. Next would be the bass. A funky bass makes my body move. Then comes the piano. So many stories told with a piano, I never get tired of listening to it. And one day, before I leave this earth, I'll be playing one too!

In terms of appreciation, my heart would be for the strings family -- violin which my grandfather played, piano which I once played (note to self to resume lessons), and guitar esp. acoustic which I would one day love to play.

A close second would be percussion which my father plays... cuz when things get quiet and my hands idle I find them beating out rhythms on whatever table top, wall, steering wheel while driving, etc., they can find.

Bass, drums, piano. Not in any order.

Tenor saxophone is my favorite horn. It reeks of sex if the musician has some skill.

Not in any particular order:

Piano (4 all of Moonbeam's reasons)

Cello (so sexy...so lonely, so calm... mmm)

Saxomophone (sorry Homer, had 2 say it that way!)

Trumpet (so many different styles from this one instrument)

Acoustic Guitar (the beauty of the acoustic is beyond explanation)

Without a doubt the electric guitar. By a mile actually. Nothing else comes remotely close.
After that I'd say the human voice and drums in that order.

Guitar, acoustic (partial to Taylors and Takamines) and electric (partial to Strats, I have 2 -- well, one's a copy...)

I play other instruments. But I connect with the guitar most deeply, like the color blue, the number 28 and the flavor chocolate.
