Double Dragon: the movie

Yep, movies based on video games are gaurenteed to be awful, which actually makes them quite enjoyable. From the few that are genuinely OK ("resident evil"), some were just hurrendous full stop ("tomb raider")

But "double dragon" was so bad its good!



Videogame was never that good to begin with ("streets of rage" anyone?), so what chance did the movie have? Still made in that late 80's/early 90's mold of sci fi movies where everything took a "blade runner/terminator" approach to set design, this kids movie has the dumbest plot ever, but plot rarely matters in these sorta films. Its goofy, its dumb, and its got alyssa milano with a strange do. Gotta love it.

When they all speed off at the end of the movie in that car, with the classic "all together now" by the farm playing the scene out, its almost as if that era of kids movies had gone forever LOL. Its almost profound

i like the part where mia and woody have that big argument about cynicism and then freud magically appears and they all do a musical number together about oral fixations.

I never understood why make a kids movie with a 12 certificate? I think "street fighter: the movie" had a 15 slapped on it? I mean, its target audience are 6-10 year olds and the emotionally cripped liked me, but thats it.

I guess the film board should just let them both be PG's or even U's? Its silly ass ninja turtle violence, not Milano having a 3some with a couple of baddies or anything!

And those care bear movies can brainwash you! I swear those movies are pure evil. Working like uber nasty horror movies but the complete opposite. Its just uber cute and corny it just sticks to ur brain, never letting go.

"street fighter: the movie" is a good one. U get ur all time fav actor Jean Claude van damme (i know u love him right?), but even better, Kylie minogue is in it, aswell as the guy from the adams family movies. Top that off with MC Hammer and Deion Sanders doing a song from the movie, and u have the makings of a classic!

Super Mario you get the credible Bob Hoskins and oddly Dennis Hopper, and "double dragon" yuo get a short, bleached blonded haired Alyssa milano. So really u cant go wrong with any of them. All 3 very odd time capsules, if you want to relive the pleasure of early 90 kid culture

Movies based on video games must be the best/worst type of film genre ever! "masters...." was based on a cartoon of course. Different sorta feel to the other 3. More like an even shitter conan the barbarian, but I havn't seen it for so long now. I can barely remember it?

Dont forget "care bears" movie.
