I was in a car in a parking lot. It felt like a roller coaster for a few seconds. It was like someone grabbed the car and just rocked and rolled it.

I'd be terrified. But come to think of it I'd keep typing too and hope it was over soon!

Here in SF...felt nothing not even after shocks. Though that is a low magnitude for us to feel anything.

Not really. By the time you realize what's going on it's almost over. Best to stay inside and get under a desk/table or a doorway is a good place. Worst place to be is inside. Many times glass breaks from buildings and you don't want to be outside for that. People think the best place is not where they are and the best thing you can do is not run.

Sounds like the quake wasn't really threatening. But it's scary nonetheless. It was probably the same thing that happened in London.

Had to evacuate the building using the stairs.

Outside isn't necessarily "safer". falling debris and glass from buildings can kill also. So can distracted motorists, people stampeding.
