NFL: Giants Trade Shockey to the Saints

This was just announced on Mike & the Mad Dog. I don't like this at all. Yeah, Shockey was a pain, but for all his problems, he's an explosive player. This sucks, and now Jason Taylor's on the Redskins...dammit.

In any of the games I've seen at Giants stadium live, Shockey was nothing but a pain in the ass. He drops balls he should catch. They don't need him in order to win another super bowl. g'bye to bad rubbish.

That's more that what the Dolphins got for Taylor (2nd & 6th).

A lot of that has to do with coaching. Shockey was more of a receiver(like Gonzalez) under Fassel. He's had to do more blocking under Coughlin, which he wasn't happy about. He felt it led to his injuries.

Say what you want about Shockey, he's a gamebreaker - someone the defense has to be aware of. Can you say that about Kevin Boss?

I'm still keeping my Shockey jersey. I'll miss #80. Just hope this trade doesn't come back to haunt us if the Giants and Saints meet in the playoffs.

he was not a game breaker at all. see my above comments. do you know how many touchdown passes he dropped...alot!. interesting that Eli won a superbowl, and the giants won alot of games, once Jeremy was out injured. Boss is going to be a good replacement. Jeremy was about show, not substance.

Give Shockey his due....894, 535, 666, 891, 623, 619 receiving yards in each of his six seasons. Boss has some pretty big shoes to fill.

Did you get a chance to talk to Rick, Maze's drummer?

Did I ever tell you how I met him? He runs the shoeshine stand in front of the Wells Fargo Plaza. I used to work for WFC, and Rick would be gone for periods of time. I was afraid he was sick.

So I asked him one day and he said, "Nah, I just go on tour sometimes". Then he told me the rest, and I almost fell off the stand! Nice guy.

Giants won't win another SuperBowl for twenty years or so.
That whole division is going to suck again. 9-7 should win it going away.

falloff That may be the funniest thing I've read on here in a long time. Do you know the last time a record that bad won the NFC East?

Shame about Shockey. He's, under the best of circumstances, an X factor in a game. Yeah, he's a baby, but so are Moss, Porter... eek Raiders alumni... disbelief

The Raiders are going to surprise a lot of people, this season... cool all jokes aside.

Good riddance to him, and I'm not anything remotely close to a Giants fan. I would never want such a total assclown on my team!

But since the 16 game schedule the division winner has gone 10-6 six times plus 10-5-1. So it could happen. That just one field goal, or fumble difference.
I see everybody being just good enough and nobody great. Dallas should win the division and should win at least 11 games, but I think they'll get surprised by Cleveland and lose division road games.

Yes!!!!
Even though they were 4-12 they were playing much better ball.
The defense is going to win a few games. If the offense can put up 24 the Raiders should win the game. They could easily be the most improved record.
I still think Walker is a question mark, even if Vegas had never happened.
And Shields is looking like that was a wasted fourth round pick. I have no idea who wanted him and why.
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.
