Nobody gives a fuck about Daddy. Everybody takes Daddy for granted. Just listen to the radio. Everything's Mama. Dear Mama. I'll always love my Mama.

And when they do talk about their father they give all the credit to God! Just consider 'God Is Love' by Marvin Gaye.
"Don't go and talk about my father. God is my friend." He refers to his mother, sister and brother but in terms of his actual family. But then God didn't cross dress and then shoot his son, so maybe his feelings on it were prophetically very well grounded.

If you listen to Christians though, God totally gave up his only son for torture and death, and for what? A bunch of filthy, sinning, photowhoring, incest-having motherfuckers. my dad is a very weird person ... I am totally out of touch with him and we don't think alike on ANY subject. I don't know if it is that way because he was mostly absent when I was growing up (working shifts). Now he is retired, he's totally abandoning everything and trying to do what HE wants because he feels that "everybody" has taken away from him so much that he needs to put himself in the first place (oblivious to wife, children, grandchildren). I don't get that. As much as I want a happy family, I am seriously disappointed by (the fact that he will not make free time to spend with the family unconditional. It's always "come at 2pm, leave at 6pm, cuz at 6.15pm It's ME time" ... at least that's how I feel it. He's been travelling the south of Europe (together with my mom) for the past three months. He's thinking about travelling Africa (backpacking ... no guide MY DAD IS CRAZY (rant over)

It´s as if we are not capable of a normal conversation and I hope that it is not just me blaming him, but it seems that it is harder a bit for him. And even though I may understand where it comes from that he was in a similar situation as a child, it seems that he has not managed to be different than his father. Sometimes I feel that he is trying, but somehow it is not enough for me. I don´t feel really closely connected to him. I know that if there is any problem, that he would help financially or whatever, but having just pure simple normal conversation is impossible. I feel anxiety inside and there´s nothing I can do about it. He´s a teacher and he seems to have a closer relationship with his pupils than with his own children. Serious answer, though, is yes. It's almost now 10 years to the day that he died, and I miss him a lot.

Very much so. I didn't realize I did (much less how much I did) until he died.

What's the Daddy song? Papa was a Rollin' Stone. Nobody gives a fuck. Nobody appreciates Daddy. -Chris Rock maybe if daddy wasn't such a negligent, good-for-nothing skunk twat, people would write some nicer songs about him! not that i'm projecting or anything.

Although I always talk about how much my dad gets on my nerves, I LOVE HIM SOOOOO MUCH.
He really is amazing. We have totally switched roles though. It's like I'm the father and he's the son. I'm so glad that we've reached that role. It's pretty funny. He's visiting right now from Mexico. During the day he and his wife dissapear. They take a walk or go shopping and when I get home I don't know where they are. I end up scolding my dad. "Where were you? Please let me know where you're going and when you're coming back. I was getting worried!" ...SOUND FAMILIAR? I love my dad, but we don't get along, and we're not in touch, because he's too stubborn and proud to be able to keep in touch.

I love my Dad, Hans! He is absolutely the best and I admire him the most for his selflessness and skill at fixing things.
We often call him HanGyver... Around our house, businesses and circle of friends we even have a running joke. If ever there is a problem we all look at each other and say W.W.H.D. (What would Hans do?) He's my role model, idol, mentor and hero. A working class Hero is something to be ~ Lennon |
