Yes, and I have.

I think long distance can work as long as both people are interested in moving forward and one or the other are willing to relocate.

It's hard, that's for sure. But not impossible.

You know what--I talk alot of shit. I have stated over and over again that I wouldn't. That it's just silly and doesn't make any sense. That you can just go in your own backyard and find anybody.
And here I am, in that position. lol

I guess, for me, find that someone who is kind, respectful, sweet, and everything I wish I could be (outside of terrible time management skills), meant that all my previous bold and arrogant statements came back to bite me in the ass. I'm happy with the setup I have, though working to ...erm, bridge certain gaps.
