I loved these when I was little but then they just disappeared.

OK Soda

Apparently this was only released in a few test markets across America including Boston, MA, which I was an hour south from, and Providence, RI, which I was an hour north from. So I drank lots of this stuff and called their hotline all the time to listen to all the strange stories, birdcalls, and other crap on there.

But then one day it disappeared and the hotline was disconnected. It was all very sad.

Although I must admit that I primarily bought it for the artwork on the cans and bottles. I even recorded some of their commerical spots. lol

O.K. was always hilarious to me. First, I thought the drink was vile — it tasted just like Coke and orange juice. Second, I was bemused to no end about Coke's anti-marketing, let's-exploit-Gen X-slacker-culture approach. I loved the pop can art and the tongue-in-cheek attitude, but let's face it — when a big, mondo-sized corporation tries to be hip, it NEVER works. Are you listening, Starbucks?

see, i was 10 or 11 when OK Soda came out so I didn't quite get the whole anti-marketing angle. I just thought that all the commericals and cans and stuff were hilarious. Instead of marketing to Gen X people, they should have just marketed it to 9, 10, and 11 year olds and they never would have discontinued it.
