Well, just looking at this upcoming election and people talking about candidates "moral code" and who they associate with and what kind of pastor they have, I doubt cheating would be accepted

Cheating's gone on. McCain cheated, and there have been stories in various news outlets about it. He's still going to get the GOP nomination.

Adultery is one thing. Unconventional marriages are something entirely different. Ask Obama's predecessor.

i disagree. look at that picture. you can just TELL by the looks on their faces they can't wait to leave that hollywood event so they can go to some smokey cafe and discuss Proust and the essence of being until 5am. okay, well, tom cruise might chime in with some sylvia plath readings, but when i look at their faces i see PROUST, PROUST, PROUST. and a little sylvia.

I dont think this "open" marriage thing is right and Im not apologizing for it.I dont believe that that is a marriage.I dont care if they give eachother permission or whatever...its still adultery and their kids are a part of their marriage also.Would will be okay if his daughter Willow got into a "marriage" like this one?And what happens if during sex somebody catches feelings...or gets pregnant???They shouldnt risk so many things just for some pleasure with someone else than your husband or wife.And it is natural to be attracted to someone else but never is it a neccessity to sleep with them.

i think those are fantastic ideals and standards. for YOU.

i think it's great that you are resolute in your values, but maybe other people are resolute in other ways of thinking and living as well, and as long as they're taking personal responsibility for the way they live and they're not hurting other people, i think it's just common respect to say "to each their own" and let people be without throwing judgment into the ring. there's already too much judgment getting thrown around in the world and too many people living in glass houses in the first place. i admire them for being honest with each other, and for taking on a public role as a celebrity couple with a successful non-traditional marriage. even if i thought their marriage was a bunch of crap, it doesn't effect me, so i'm not even gonna bother mixing my karma and bad energy into the lives of people i don't even know. ya know?

And another thing...how many times did I say "I THINK" in my post?

I dont get how people who think its a great idea or whatever can state their opinion and its all cool but soon as I say that I think its wrong and back up why I think its wrong everybody and their mom wants to jump on my post.Its an opinion...get over it.And to those who think I put too much energy in my post...okay?u didnt have to read it nor agree with it.The point of the thread was 2 disgust and I did my part.
