Are you following your Life Dreams or settling for the average?

Are you following your Life Dreams or settling for the average?

Is it a struggle for you to deal with the average day in and day out shit...8-5 job?

Hell, I know we have to pay bills and stuff but do you get bored with the average bullshit, huh?

confused I do. Am I only?

It can be trying at times but my job is not my end all be all!!! I have been fired off damn near every job becasue they became dead end and I went to something else and always keep my mind open to learn something else!!!

Circumstance can change ur life dramatically. Nobody has the perfect life but I
have learned to be content with what I have. My joy does not come from material things at all!!!

It is easy to get caught up in what u dont have INSTEAD of enjoying the gifts that r right in front of you now!!!

I dont have a house and husband or kids but I am okay with that!!! The cookie cutter life is not for me at all!!!

You said it best....being content. But what if you have dreams to be something that you don't do each day. Obtaining material things is nothing. Following God's will for you is another. eek Did I just say that?

Definitely following mine nod...I don't think my soul could ever survive me being in a 9-5 job again. And whatever I do MUST either require a lot of creativity or a lot of logic and analysis (what I'm doing now requires a helluva lot of both lol). At this point in my life I need control over my hours, my income and the type of work I do.

For me, the 9-5 thing kills me so I don't do it. I'm following my calling but some people will try and make you feel stupido. And I was just wondering how many orgers out there who are following their dreams.

And if there are orgers who want to take that step but need the encouragement to do it.

Shit, I'm eighteen and I can't stand the thought of spending "ONE SOLITARY SECOND" in the regular 9-to-5 workplace, let alone for a lifetime. It just disgusts me thinking about it, really. I wanted to become a musician but I lost clout and perseverance (If I had "ANY" of the sort.) over the course of Last August during the ending of a bogus summer. So College Education for no damn reason (Except to receive a Bachelor's Degree in "WHO-KNOWS-WHAT" just so I can say that I did it because those are the expectations and that might be my best bet.) until about the age of 23 seems to be my only option and oh how I loathe it.
No aspirations whatsoever.

Oh, I've had that NUMEROUS times nod...my family always supports and encourages me no matter what, but I've gotten the comments of doubt from pretty much every other direction. I've pretty much stopped sharing my dreams and goals with people...it's just easier.

I don't really have life dreams. confused

I take each day as it comes, take the opportunities I'm presented with and do the best with what I've got.

The only "dream" I have is traveling as far and wide as I can whenever and however I can. And I make my plans around that.

I've done the 9-to-5 thing and it isn't that bad, but I greatly prefer doing my own thing. Going freelance has been one of my best decisions, if nothing else than I absolutely hate office politics/gossip/nonsense in most all situations. I'm glad to be out of that mess.

But in answer to the original question, I would say that nothing work-related is my life's dream. I have tons of career goals and motivations, but they're just a means to an end.

You have room to make decisions. Shit, the hardest thing is to trust yourself. I'm not the religion spoken person but I do believe in the Higher Voice. The hardest thing for me is to listen to that Voice and follow.

I have a complete other life outside of work and home. I DJ and Make music/in a band. So I am very very busy all the time. So I suppose I am living my dreams. I certainly can't wait to finish the album I am working on.

College can be a good thing. That can be where you find out what you want to do. You're only 18 and have a lifetime ahead of you. Use it wisely. Oh and having a degree is worth it as you can fall back on it later.

All so true. I just have to grow some patience. To me though, it'll be the equivalent of sitting on an uncomfortable chair/couch for an unbearable amount of time and trying not to fidget out of the situation because I'm improportionate to it all. I could adjust, but I'd have to find the passion inside of me and the will to carry on, I suppose. I just don't see myself finding what I want in college. But I'm going, nonetheless, just to say I did it.

And in 4 years you'll be happy you did so. Keep an open mind and you'll find something. College isn't That bad...it certainly WAY better than high school. You can at least take subject you find interesting.

I am starting to follow mine and it feels amazing!! For the first time in my life I'm making my own decisions and my own way. I have a job that I like and I'm going to school to do something I've wanted to do for a while.

I have a guy that I love dearly and who loves me, respects me, and lets me be who I am. Some might think we're crazy for being in such a long distance relationship and maybe we are a little, but it feels good and I'm happy.
