Zed or Zee? How do you call the letter Z?
I was taught in school that it's called Zed. In Canada as far as I see they say Zed. Is it another thing that the Americans decided they know better and changed it to Zee? Discuss

It's totally American, but I love the sound of zee so much better than zed.
And considering it wasn't really all that long ago that people used to call it "izzard," I think there's plenty of room for the two different pronunciations.

Zed all the way. I believe thats another Americanism. I remember in school way back that when we were doing the alphabet if anyone said zee the teacher would just tell them no its Zed....makes me think our teacher didn't like Americanisms either Receiving transmission from David Bowie's nipple antenna. Finally a voice of reason. I've always known it to be called Zed and that's how it should be,

It's a fun little battle! Imagine my confusion as an American married to a South African living in Australia. In any case, where are you from? I've done a little research on the Haitch situation and it seems that it is only common in parts of Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! I'm an Aussie
One thing that gets me is (mainly people from the UK do this there might be others) people who over pronunciate (if thats a word ) eg "thing" they will say thinG and make the G really stand out Receiving transmission from David Bowie's nipple antenna.
