A few weeks ago I was at Bingo and I went to the pull tab window to trade in some tabs I had bought. It is a narrow hallway with the tab counter sticking out about a foot and then a row of chairs on the other wall. There is probably about 4 feet of space from the tabs counter to the chairs. Since there are so many old people there, people in wheelchairs tend to pass by so instead of standing in the middle of the hallway during the break, I stood to the side of the lady in front of me.

I am waiting and I see her turn her head a little and she is glaring at me from her peripheral vision. Her eyes are literally popping out of her head and she says:

I don't like people standing next to me like you are doing. You need to move!

I wasn't in her immediate space, just the regular space you'd be standing in line waiting your turn so it wasn't like I was riding her jock. So when she asked me that I told her

I'm sorry, I don't validate lunacy. You have mental issues and they are yours, not mine. I'm being considerate to the old people in wheelchairs so they can pass to the bathroom. I will not be moving and if you don't like it, too bad.

She has been throwing me daggers ever since

My question is this: Did I make a social fau paux? Should I have validated this crazy cunt and her obsession? Was I wrong not to move? It wasn't like I was being mean to her but she was vicious to me and I didn't think I had any obligation to honor her request which was based on some OCD.
