The film "Titanic". Thoughts?

Overhyped, overwrought, didn't deserve the sucsess?

Even though Iam male, I still love the movie and it works on a fewso many levels.

The effects/stunts/cgi/everything! Cameron hit pretty much every mark for me here. Even the music by Hans Zimmer is nice.

As for the acting? Billy Zane was great hamming it up as the no good boyfriend, whilst Kathy Bates small role was cool aswell. Winslet was good enough, but I think Leonardo is the better actor in this film, but both are very capable actors and no one is bad in it.

One of my all time fav movies. The scope of the movie still amazes me. I can understand the hate for this film, but I still love it. Massive props to James Cameron, as blockbusters are often great action, little substance, but this had enough of both, even if the love storyline is very simplistic. I still think it works well enough, and the pacing is pretty much perfect.

I love it. It's an all-time favorite. Sure, it's corny. Sure it's predictable. But it's freaking incredible. And I even like the song boxed

I dont mind the song. The actual instrumental is used throughout the movie, and its a nice melody. Add some lyrics, and you cant got far wrong.

It takes a seriously ambitious director to get make all that shit work. No wonder it took years to make, and cost a bomb. Payed off though.

Its cheesy but I love some romantic films, and this mixes tragic romance with a massive dose of action. Also, the last half is surprising as some of it is almost done in real time. About 20 minutes of it if I can remember? Quite odd for a film sequence, particually an action sequence.

The '97 version with Leonardo and Kate? Dire and overly dramatized. Putrid film.

I loathe this film, I loathe James Cameron and this film is the reason why I can't stand Billy Zane and Kate Winslut.....I hated Celone Dion already before this film!

I hate movies about suffering. Hard to watch, even with Leo and Kate. Left with a headache.

The second half is amazing but given that I have to endure the
unbearably cheesy love story first, i usually pass when it´s on tv.

Extraordinarily cheesy, but impressive for its grandeur and the great craft that went into it. If I never see it again, though, I'll be OK.

i only saw it once, in a theater in NYC, and a crackhead was providing an ongoing commentary through the whole thing. i had a great time, but i don't think i can watch 'titanic' again without a crackhead talking through it.
