something like ...
Connecting Your Camcorder and PC Connect your DV camera to your PC using a FireWire cable. The connection on digital video cameras is always a 4-pin FireWire connector (sometimes called either DV or iLINK depending on the camcorder brand). Desktop PCs, with the exception of Sony computers use 6-pin FireWire connections. Sony uses 4-pin connectors on their desktop PCs as well. On a laptop, the FireWire connection is almost always 4-pin. Make sure you get a FireWire cable to match your needs. For most desktop systems, this means you need a 4-pin to 6-pin cable. For laptops and all Sony computers you need a 4-pin to 4-pin cable

JCV Mini DV digital Video Camera Model GR-D270U I would buy this http://www.circuitcity.co...tDetail.do and something like this (video is not my thang ) http://www.blazemp.com/ then maybe some memory for your pc Your camcorder will connect to your pc via USB (According to the manufacturer)with a larger hard drive and video conversion software you just copy the movie from your camcorder to your pc and cut the bit you want out...covert to mpeg or avi and post it. At least that is what i would do and its under 300 bucks

I was looking at the new Samsung cams as well
Thanx for the info I wonder if there are companys that convert the mini tapes into a dvd or something like that ... and what if I do have a DVD ( I do ) is that even an option for getting something up for people to see ? Why do Ieven care about this ? . [Edited 6/11/08 10:44am]

Mach, Mdiver you're both totally on the right track.
Mach, you have a DV cam like mine (mine's a sony but who gives...) where you record onto tape and then you can upload from your cam to the PC. You still have digital quality so that's great the only drawback I've found is it's such a frikkin' chore. Good luck... A working class Hero is something to be ~ Lennon |
