Depp's co-lead was the inimitable, ever-lovely, super-talented Juliette Binoche. In France, she's one of the country's major exports. To them, she's so singular, they refer to her as La Binoche. Her talent is sprawling. Her beauty iconic. Her range staggering.

Yeah, I know Binoche's in it too. I neglected to mention her because she's not a chick flick qualifier.

Depp, Dench, and lots of chocolate are though. Sorry.

One thing I love about The Depp is the variety of roles he plays. So many actors just stick to one or two genres and don't veer much from that path. But Depp does everything. He'll do a kid-friendly Disney flick like the Pirates franchise, then do something more serious like Blow, then particpate in a tribute flick to Hunter S., then work through a chick flick like Bennie and Joon or Chocolat, then do whatever random shit Tim Burton's got up his sleeve this week. It's brilliant.
