Which instant messenger program do you like the most ?

Do you use any instant messenger program to keep in touch with people online? I use AOL, Yahoo, MSN and ICQ. I like Yahoo instant messenger the most it have the ability to read offline messages and send them, accept people before they add you to their buddy list, very good at hideing online status, webcam connection is good, IMVironment themes are cool. I know the other instant messenger have just about the same stuff Yahoo got, but I just think Yahoo one is better with its options.

Yahoo Messenger is amazing, tons of features. The only thing I dont like is being forced to load a web page each time you want to view someone's profile. But the chat rooms, video conferencing, and other features make it top notch. I wish this was the default messaging software that most people used, but unfortuneatly its AIM.

I tried to give MSN Messenger a chance but I dont know ANYONE that uses it.

I use MSN... it sucks. I tried Yahoo, I really didn't like Yahoo... but I wanted it for the video conferencing. It didn't work well either and ended up screwing my computer up until I uninstalled it.

Most of my mates are on msn so there you go, to me it's peer pressure that counts!
I feel pretty, that's enough

i hate all of them. people will never leave me the fuck alone. and if there are say 3 people in my buddy list that are online, the ONE i want to talk to least is inevitably the one that will message me neutral

so i just don't sign on anymore ...

I like Yahoo, for pretty much all the reasons you cited. MSN runs a close second. I have AIM, but almost none of my friends do so it's kinda pointless, ditto for ICQ.

Anyone out there using one of those 'all in one' messengers like Trillian? DO they work ok? Do ya like it?

Try to connect with someone you know first time, and if you decide to hook up for real, use a firewall - you know it makes sense.

SensualMelody

I love Yahoo Instant Messenger
Some reasons:

New animated emoticons

Ability to see when correspondent is typing so you
don't step all over each other like AOL

Ability to leave a message so person will receive it
when he comes on line.

Message archive is easy to handle

Many more features
So...how's everybody doing? smile

Heavenly

I used to use ICQ, and lvoed it. but not anymore, since they don't seem to care about tech problems, and only about adding features. AND...they don't support sms in Israel anymore, except for one phone company, which isn't mine.
I use Yahoo and MSN.
I prefer Yahoo, it's got the offline messages which MSN doesn't. You can create your own status messages which is fun, IMViroments are cool but I don't use them much. Emoticons are fun. the Video on Yahoo is the best I've seen of all messengers, and it doesn't seem to have a lot of tech problems.
Oh, and the file sharing is great too!
I do wish they'll work on the voice chat, so it'll allow both people to speak at the same time, without cutting off one another.

Ahhh...ICQ the way it USED to be, before they started loading it down with all those system crashing features no one really needs. Hmmm...maybe I'll start using it again smile

actually.. you never need 2 use the digits..
you just search for the name, or get the contact by nickname, last name, email, first name.. you can even rename the contact. smile smile
