Absolutely! I've found some great tweed sport coats, sweaters, ties, accessories, etc. at thrift stores.

Of course, certain cities (and neighborhoods) have better thrift stores than others. There are some incredible thrift stores, for example, in the Haight-Ashbury area of San Francisco. (I got some really cool ties, cufflinks and a leather car coat there a few years back.) And Kiliwatch in Paris is one of the best used clothing stores I've been to in my life!

And there's an art to used buying/selling: "Used" to one person means "vintage" to another. I once saw some old, worn, faded Levis I'd have paid no more than $9 for if I'd have paid for them at all. Turns out those bad boys were going for $600 , because apparently collectors would pay that much for that particular issue of Levis with that particular stitching and that particular font on the brand tag.

I like thrift shopping but I'm not very lucky at finding stuff. I find a lot of crap, that's for sure. I haven't developed the ability to turn trash into treasure yet but I'm totally jealous of people that can. I know quite a few people that always find the best things at second hand stores and garage sales. Not me.

MY buddy found a Controversy LP still with all the original stickers on the sleeve and stuff, it was £2!
