And thats exactly how Sharon Stones PR will deal with it. Why bring up Karma at all and I dont hear her saying how terrible it was the 80,000+ have died instead she'd rather name drop the Dalai Lama. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Why, exactly, do we expect Hollywood types to be anything other than complete and utter fuckwits? We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

B-list? You're being kind. Someone famous for opening and closing her legs in a movie giving her opinions on politics - I love it! Too bad the Komodo dragon didn't finish her off. Hey, are we forgetting her turn in Police Academy 56? Shake it til ya make it

not sure why folks are jumping at the chance to diss her...here is the full statement: Well, you know, it was very interesting, because at first I am not happy about the way Chinese are treating the Tibetans because I don't think anybody should be unkind to anybody else... Then I've been concerned about how should we deal with the Olympics because they're not being nice to the Dalai Lama, who's a good friend of mine. And then all this earthquake, and all this stuff happened, I thought, is that karma? When you are not nice, the bad things happen to you. And then I got a letter from the Tibetan foundation that they wanted to go and be helpful, and that made me cry... That was a big lesson to me."

Not defending her comment either way but I heard she has a genius level IQ and went to college at the age of 15. Not saying she can't make a dumb or insensitive statement, just saying she ain't a stupid broad.

Now that's a stretch don't ya think? It trips me out how everyone is so quick to judge/dismiss her based on one public instance of foot in mouth disease. Shit happens, doesn't mean it should suddenly negate the YEARS of exemplary charitable work and good she's done. It's a good thing that the sum of who each of us are is not measured by ONE off-color remark or we'd ALL be in serious trouble. [Edited 5/27/08 19:26pm]

All due respect to you lady but if I loosely imply something rather then call it out that makes me innocent?....or does it make me deceitfully clever? The idea that some 60,000 suffer as justification for a corrupt government... but thats not what she is saying...she obviously points out her concerns about China first: Well, you know, it was very interesting, because at first I am not happy about the way Chinese are treating the Tibetans because I don't think anybody should be unkind to anybody else... Then I've been concerned about how should we deal with the Olympics because they're not being nice to the Dalai Lama, who's a good friend of mine. that's the precursor to how whatever poem she wrote (at the request of Tibet) came across....she follows that by saying: And then all this earthquake, and all this stuff happened, I thought, is that karma?
She's questioning her initial feelings at this point...and concludes with: it was a big lesson to me..sometimes you have to learn to put your head down and be of service...even to people who aren't being nice to me. and that was a big lesson for me.
like it or not, people feel this way...if an earthquake had struck Germany during war world 2, dont you think people would have felt conflicted about helping the Germans? in the end, she decided to help and shared the lesson learned... why is that so bad? Space for sale...
