I don't think it is THAT common, we just happen to hear about EVERY CASE where it does back in the olden days the pill was single dosage all the way through

This is rare but not unheard of. My best friend found out at the end of last July that she was pregnant, she had a 7 lb somehthing oz baby boy at the end of September. In her case, she had very irregular periods, so when she skipped 7 months, that in itself was not unusual for her. She did feel movement, but thought she was having stomach spasms . I'm still shocked at the whole thing.

No! She wasn't showing at all, being big to start with, and she never felt a kick or anything. So far it looks like everything's healthy and working out fine, but she's really concerned about the child's health because, not knowing she was pregnant, she'd been out drinking a few times. She feels horrible about that because she's not the sort of person who'd go on drinking or smoking if she knew she was pregnant. I guess it can't be helped now, but who knows what's going to happen to the baby? Chances are the kid will be fine, but I do understand why the worry.

No one had a clue, not even her. SCARY! That would terrify me. Luckily I'm thin and small-framed so my size couldn't hide a baby, but still. Scary! She was not very big. We are not sure where she was hiding it because she did not get very big. I would not have believed it if I did not know her and see her often. It does not seem possible, though he was a rather small baby maybe that is why? and she went in to labour a little early.. I don't know but that would freak the hell out of me.

It's possible for some women to continue menstruation even while being pregnant, although it appears to be rare. The same thing happened to a girlfriend of mine who's a model and runway-stick thin. She runs several miles a day to keep in shape and couldn't figure out for the life of her why she was having a problem fitting into the clothing samples for work. She got right to her 3rd month and was having a standard doctor's appointment before she found out what was up. She didn't understand it because she did get her period on time , and she didn't suffer any first trimester symptoms like she did with her first son. So she was running a gazillion miles a day, on whatever the latest fad diet was at the time to keep you weighing 3 pounds, and throwing back all manner of booze at industry parties at night just having no idea whatsoever that she was with child. She's a pretty detail-oriented, straightforward chick, so she was pretty floored when she found out.

Well, at least no one will look down on her because she chose not to have children. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Considering one drink at the wrong time has the potential to cause FAS, she's really concerned. But apparently the baby's a healthy size for how far along she is, so the doctor says there's no need to worry for now. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Kinda yes, kinda no. Even if she slimmed down she'd still be a big girl because she really does have a large frame. Her shoulders are like twice as wide as mine! "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"
