80 percent Raw Vegan diet 6 days a week (1 cheat day).

This is where I would like to be some day. Right now I'm about 80% vegan but I need to work on the raw more.

I started running again. I'm taking it slow because the last time I started which was a few years ago I got shin splints.

So running about 3x/week

Karate 2-3x/week

Weights 3x/week

Daily stretching - I want to be able to do a full split by the end of summer!

Eating clean w/one designated cheat day instead of random cheating

I’ve got about 30+ days before my vacation and I need to either trim down from the pounds I gained over winter. It may not happen but I can definitely reshape my form.
Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I've finally gotten back into my usual fanaticism just recently after having surgery a few months ago and then being really sick after that. dead There's always something holding me back from getting back into shape it seems. sad

Anyway, I run about three times a week at this point and plan on doing more as I get used to it again. I can do Pilates classes again and plan on going to my first ballet class since October next week. woot!

I took Bikram yoga for the first time also two days ago and now I can hardly move I'm so sore. lol It felt amazing though.

Exercise keeps me sane. Well, relatively sane that is.

Bikram is the BOMB!!! woot! I've been doing it on and off now for 4 years. I finally got super serious last year and amped it up to 4-5 90 minute classes in a 100 degree, 60% humidity room. The sweat is awesome! That coupled with weight training and additional cardio 3-4 times a week. I totally see how yoga keeps your body young and I'll always do Bikram. nod

Jony, what are you doing differently now aside from exercise? Did you increase your protein intake or something? I'd like to build some mass, too, but I've always had trouble.

It's one of the best workouts ever though. And yeah, the sweating feels great. I'd always done Iyengar yoga before that, and I still do my own practice at home when I can with different asanas than Bikram offers, but Bikram is addicting! lol You feel SO great when you leave the studio.

It is sort of scary actually. lol At first anyway, because it's really the heat that makes it so challenging. I almost passed out once. You get used to it though.

Well, I've gained 7 pounds this year which may not sound like much but I'm not all that tall so it shows. I was trying on clothes yesterday and I had a terrible muffin top.

So, running 1.5 miles 2 x week.
Aerobic dvd 2 x week.
Hatha yoga 1 x week
Plus regular dog walking.

Low G.I diet, instead of having four slices of toast for lunch it's soup from now on. Porridge breakfast with bananas and walnuts. Dinner is normal, so salmon and stir fry tonight. I'm just trying to stop the ice-cream, scones etc.

The postures and the heat will do wonders for your neck and back too. I've also had back problems and when I started going to classes all my back pain went away.

Awwww. . . don't be scurrrrred. comfort I HATED it at first but it was partly due to the Nazi-like yoga instructor I had. She'd tell you not to leave the room no matter what and if you felt like you needed to throw up, there's a bucket in the corner. Throw up and get back on your mat. omfg confused I didn't like her at ALL. I've since found a studio with it's own twist on Bikram and they're expanding all over Texas and Colorado so they've got great prices and offer tons of classes daily.

That's a vicious cycle.

The diet pepsi is causing you to want more chocolate.
I gurantee if you stop drinking diet soda, your craving for chocolate will decrease dramatically.

Yeah, Suze was crazy. She does her own brand of Power/Boot Camp yoga and is quite abusive and in your face. Combine the abuse with the heat plus me on the wrong day, I was scared I was gonna whup her ass in yoga class. disbelief Not a good look. . . confused

I drink a full can of redline xtreme every single day on an empty stomach and I am a small girl. I dont usually eat till about 4-6 pm in the afternoon and I am fine, or so I think. However, I have also consumed 2 full cans of redline xtreme in one day, it just raises my heart rate. Many times I have shook. Nightmares, and I awake during the night alot. I am still alive and still in love. I am having to tweek myself off them because I can’t go a day without one and without the effects it gives me. I am addicted to them and they make me feel good. I am an exercise addict and I eat good so my only problem is I need to eat ON THEM! all in all, just make sure your eating and you’ll be good. I built up a high tolerance

THIS STUFF IS GREAT… The longest I’ve been up is 8 days and nights on it, After the first 4 days you see things a lot different, Now my dog talks to me and sometimes in Latin. And on the fifth day he was walking around the house on his back legs all day, just like a person. The fifth and sixth days where not good at all, I don’t even want to talk about them. But the seven and eighth day after I stopped screaming was fantastic God said I would be ok after I slept for a few weeks

falloff Yeah it all depends on the instructor. I find that Bikram can sometimes be too boot-campish. I go to CorePower Yoga when I'm in Mpls. They do the exact Bikram class, but are much more lenient on you. nod

Also, I should mention that what I do is a derivative of Bikram with more postures than the traditional Bikram yoga. Apparently, Bikram Choudhury copyrighted Bikram yoga and likes to sue yoga studios that practice anything that's similar to his version. Even though these postures have been around for 1000s of years. rolleyes Therefore, most of the studios I've been to don't use the name Bikram and modify the postures or sequence so as not to infringe on his copyright. I'm trying to figure out a workout routine to get back into my life and I simply can't do it. sad

I DO do a lot when I work the coffee shop, though, and that's at least 3 days a week. I'm on my feet the whole time, I'm running around barista-ing and cooking and sweeping and mopping and wiping off tables and such. It's got to be a decent workout. lol

In addition, I've been quite careful about my diet, verging even farther into veggie-land, cutting out meat almost completely.

This is exactly why I wouldn't do Bikram at first. It seems so cultish.

Actually, my mom had a Bikram book from back in the 70s that I used to look at as a kid. It has all these pics of his studio in Hollywood with celebrities doing all the poses like Shirley Maclaine, Herbie Hancock, and Justine Bateman as a kid. lol So I knew about since I was a kid but never tried it until a few years ago.

Anyway, I do like the heat. smile
