Did you just develop this???

i am pretty sure i've had it for a few years, but it's just been within the past few months that i've put the pieces together and started taking it seriously. it's not a life-long thing by any means.

Sorry about your eggie-farts. That's the first time I ever heard of that, although the same thing happens to me with brussel sprouts neutral . I don't know what a good substitute would be for an omlette, although I am fond of a good scramble done with tofu. For nice color just add a little tumeric.

I am kinda curious now to see if I could create a tofu based mixture that will give you the consistency and texture of an omlette, though. I might make this a cooking project for next week hmmm wink

If you have an intolerance, you need to google everything that has eggs. Pasta, cake, stuffing in the Turkey for Thanksgiving, meatballs etc. Damn.
It can be dose related. A small amount may be OK.

But, you're vegetarian, so, more tofu and beans?

i'm fine with things that have egg as an ingredient, like pastries and whatnot.

items like omelettes and egg salad are the killers.

as a vegetarian, i've sampled a lot of egg-free entrees - some are great, some not so great. so i know i can be perfectly content as a part-time vegan, it's just that i'll miss me my eggs. pout

how about egg beaters? (i mean those fake eggs or healthy liquid eggs, not the thing you scramble real eggs with).

and think about how you're treating me now.
Then try to reconcile them, if you can.
But you don't even remember, do you?"

i think i'm gonna experiment with those soon and see what happens. i think you can make fairly passable scrambled eggs with those. hell, if i throw in enough spices, i can make ANYTHING yummy. shrug

If I were lactose intolerant, I think I would have to put my head in an oven and push myself off the cliff, because I don't know if I could make it in a world without brie and ice cream.

Which I am. It's ok as long as you take the enzyme that digests milk sugar for you. How often do you really have ice cream anyway?

And who's Bree?

Omelets and egg salad have things in them other than eggs. Are you sure it's the eggs that are the problem?

considering the similarities in what happens to my body after eating egg salad, omelettes, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, etc., i think it is safe to say that i do not suffer from a paprika intolerance.

Paprika. lol

Okay. I can't do eggs without a lot of other stuff present to cover up their taste/texture...so I'd never be able to tell if it were the eggs or something accompanying them.

Egg Beaters are actually good, IMO. I like the Garden kind. The Southwestern is also good if you like a little spice. chicken

Egg Beaters have been around for years. I think they are ok. Well My Mom worked for the company that developed them (as well as Morningstar Farms). I probably shouldn't tell you that the same place that Developed Egg Beaters also made SOS pads and One a Day and Flintstones.

why should that bother me?

i'm sure SOS pads, one-a-days and flintstones chewables taste delightful in a nice omelette. nod
