OK, is it me or is DC 1000% better than DA? DA is a good singer, but how can a record company market his material? DC (to me) is the clear winner. What do u guys think?

That's what I have said all along. DA is not marketable at all. DC is.

But I think little David will win.

He may be not as marketable as DC, but he is more unique and his charm is irresistible. DC looks like many of the singers you see these days, and I think DA presents the songs better.

I don't find him unique at all.

Go to any theme park and there you will find a bunch of young guys just like him.

There is no doubt he can sing, but he's kinda like this little robot, plug him in a watch him go through the motions. I just think he's lacking soul and a real personality. Maybe it's because he's so young.

And he talks exactly like Napoleon Dynamite.

damn, that kid can sing. he gives me goosebumps sometimes. but not in awhile, so i'm glad he went back to "Imagine" to remind me/everyone else that when he's on, he's ON.

American Idol has never been about markerable singers, though. It's a popularity contest, plain and simple. Most of those folks NEED American Idol to get a reconrding contract. They wouldn't otherwise.

That's so true....but not many of them have been able to keep a record contract. Kelly and Carrie are the biggest stars to come from the show. There are others who have done well in other careers (Latoya London in stage shows, Fantasia both on the charts and on the stage, etc.), but most of them don't succeed. Hell, TAylor Hicks should have never won. I don't think his album sold 50 copies.

And even though it's a popularity contest, all of mainstream music industry is. That's what being marketable is all about - popular with the masses - so yes, it's totally a popularity contest. Can't see why this show would be classified any differently. It's just a bunch of people with a dream of being a singer/performer trying out - not much different than auditioning or trying to shop around a demo. I do not think that using this venue makes them any less talented or worthy of success.

Most of these people can fucking belt out a tune. It's all live and they all sing really well. Of course there are exceptions of some that are not that great.

And I totally agree that Taylor Hicks winning was a joke. It's simply a case of a winner not being marketable - much like I see happening if DA wins.

Maybe my taste is off, but I don't think DA has a great voice. He sounds exactly the way he looks: Good but there's no personality, sexiness. or anything interesting. He's totally bland. DC sounds like a lot of other people but, if I have to choose between the two of them, it's no contest. And yeah, DC is pretty damn hot.

i think he has a better voice than DC...BUT DC has more personality & stage presance.

simon cowell was on Ellen, & he said DC "should" win & that DA's dad was Not that bad as a stage father ..that he had seen much worse.

whoever wins...i am fine with, can you imagine the stress & presure they must be under??

D.A. makes me want to punch kittens...or him.
