Ex-Moderator | big balls Do you have them?
And what does it mean to have big balls? A coworker of mine left the company last week. She was the last girl on my team besides me. The other team that reports to my manager is all male as well. I sent her a text today that it was already getting a little "boy-centric" for my taste and it's only the 4th day she's been gone. She called one of my teammates to give him crap about it. His response was that I "have bigger balls than most of them around here". I can't imagine another context of my life where anyone would say that, but considering my work environment and people, I suppose I can see why he'd say that. What do you guys think? Do you have big balls? Would others say you do? |

I think they might say that. You see I'm the nice guy of the office. They know if they give me something to do I'll do it. BUT, I don't let them take advantage of me. If I know someone is getting me to do something because the person that is supposed to be doing it is lazy, then I diplomatically decline. Some people here think it's having big balls. ok, i'll ignore the fact that carrie is going weak for balls, and try to juggle my emotions to tend to the matter at hand.
there's a sick pun somewhere in that previous paragraph, but i can't be bothered to bring it home for you people. ANYWAY: i think i have big balls at work. i don't think of it that way, though. i don't like stirring the shit just for the pleasure of stirring shit or for the sake of getting into a pissing contest or to battle it out for the pleasure of being the alpha drone of our department. i know people like that and they can just piss right off. my thing is, when someone does something unjust that compromises my ability to make a living, then i feel obligated to say or do something about it. i'm not a "don't rock the boat" kind of guy. i feel like if someone is doing something inappropriate that effects me negatively, it's not "rocking the boat" to complain about it. also, my mom was a personnel director for most of her professional life and through all of MY adult life, and the one piece of advice she always gave me was, "they're lucky to have you, so don't let those sons of bitches give you any shit." i let that be my mantra. | |

yes. and yes. "Try to remember how you used to feel about me
