Celebrate your healthy stuff here!

woot! I know a number of Orgers who are trying hard to keep up their gym and diet resolutions from January. Some of us have fallen off, reset our goals and are back on track.

Celebrate what you're doing or have accomplished, on this thread -- no matter how insignificant you think it might be. thumbs up! It's about the journey, y'all.

Here's mine:

I ran/walked two piddlin' miles at the gym tonight (tomorrow, I'm returning for weights), and came home and fixed some salmon, spinach and dried cranberries.

I've lost a couple of pounds, since starting to run more frequently. But, I'm fitter and have a bit more stamina on that mean ol' treadmill. woot!

I put on a few extra pounds over the winter, but I've been working it off nicely. I'm just about down to my preferred weight of 175. I'm just about ready for display. biggrin

2 hours at the gym 6 nights a week.

80 percent Raw Vegan diet 6 days a week (1 cheat day).

Ran 4 miles a day on the weekends.

36 inch waist down to 34 inches. Still need to work on it as it's a snug 34, and want it to be a loose 34.

I also surprisingly kept my arm size even though I was losing weight. Which is a miracle pray

I have a long way to go before I'm satisfied. But the trend since January with a minor blip in mid march to mid April, (1 month) has been steadily downward in weight, and steadily upward in strength and endurance.

I'm not sure why but Im breaking out like mad all over.. I've got pimples showing up on my back and sides now--does anyone know why this might be? It's annoying. I'm thinking possibly a sign of detox as I burn through layers of fat?

Overall, I'm really happy. I think It's all a matter of dedication. It's slow as hell, and at time seems thankless and that you have to sacrifice so much... But what else do I have to do with my time? lol

oops. And 37 pounds down. Well over 25 more to go lol oh well.

Dude, you're an inspiration. For real. woot!

I don't know about the breakout. hmmm The detox deal sounds like a possibility. Have you increased your water intake, since noticing the breakout?

Why, cock of course.

razz

I keed I keed. I eat just about anything I feel like it. Though there's a lot more guilt involved when you designate a cheat day. I feel absolutely dirty biting into something bad, that even on my cheat days, I still choose healthier options on a menu when I can. shrug

But I cheated from mid march to mid April and gained 9 pounds that month. 9 in one goddamned month!! lol So, I got back on the wagon in mid April and have been picking up momentum sense.

You just feel so much better about yourself when you're not making up excuses.

Here's the thing I have trouble doing consistently: stretching.

Like, I've yet to stretch after tonight's run. I hear proponents and opponents, both sides.

Is it necessary? Or not?

I've lost 20 pounds since February. I made a big change in my eating habits. I've cut out most junk food, although I do allow myself to have it occasionally....it's just way less than what I used to eat. I also started measuring out my portions. When I first started measuring everything out, it was really surprising to see how much I was really eating before. My portions were ridiculous, but I've fixed that. I'd like to lose 10-15 more pounds. pray

Now I just have to get myself to exercise regularly. neutral I really dislike working out at the gym and walking/running on the treadmill. It gets really boring after a while. I've been thinking of taking up tennis or something. I'm extremely competitive, so I think something like that would be good for me nod I'm trying to get my sister to join me in this lol

I'm pissed - a year ago I started seriously working out. Last September/October I'd lost 17 lbs & had about 5 more to go. Then the holidays fucked me UP, I'm still trying to get back on track fit I started again yesterday - went around the neighborhood lake twice (6+ miles, power walking). I didn't have it in me to go to the gym tonight BUT I will be in that mutha for the rest of the week. Fuck the juice fast, fuck all the dumb shit - I just need to get my workout back on NOW mad

pray
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

yes, it really does feel great after a workout.. your body becomes so use to exercising and if you dont stay on schedule with it, it's like something's missing..

37 pounds?! Congratulations!!!

The pimples are probably a result of your detox. That's happened to me before.

You have no idea, your story has totally inspired me to start going back to the gym eek

yay!

I've finally gotten back into my usual fanaticism just recently after having surgery a few months ago and then being really sick after that. dead There's always something holding me back from getting back into shape it seems. sad

Anyway, I run about three times a week at this point and plan on doing more as I get used to it again. I can do Pilates classes again and plan on going to my first ballet class since October next week. woot!

I took Bikram yoga for the first time also two days ago and now I can hardly move I'm so sore. lol It felt amazing though.

Exercise keeps me sane. Well, relatively sane that is.

I break out whenever I get back into a major exercise routine also. For me I think it's because I'm sweating so much and it just clogs my pores everywhere. confused I sweat a LOT though. It's gross. lol
