Narnia- Prince Caspian comes in almost $30 million under projections

With a huge built-in audience, a massive marketing push, and no major competition, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian will easily dominate the multiplexes this weekend as it attacks 3,929 theaters. An opening weekend tally of around $83M could result.

I saw it yesterday and loved it.

I'll admit, tho- if U haven't seen the 1st one, I could see how U'd be confused in the beginning, making only the battle scenes cool.

The media will play the opening numbers as a disappointment, but since this is a family film, my guess is that it will have enough legs to have a steady box office return over the next few weeks. I'm surprised at the continued strength of Iron Man though.
